Snowy Day and a giveaway….

This is what this morning looked like from the front window….and the back window! We have at least 7 inches in our area and so most places in Maryland are closed for the day! So we have been staying cozy and I have been reading blogs, prepping some more Dear Jane blocks and hopefully this afternoon I will be piecing the rest of the top for Moda U’s Piece and Plenty quilt!!!! Yes, I have finished the applique blocks!

Speaking of Moda….I am sure many of you have already heard of, and been to, the Moda Bake Shop and seen all the wonderful tutorials that Lissa of Moda Lissa and Angela of Moda, Home, Mom have gathered for us using all the cool pre-cuts that Moda has released. If you have not please hop over there now and check it out! There are some very talented ladies on there….Including Vanessa from V and Co. She is the most recent addition to the Moda Bake Shop with her cute rag rug made using a “Honey Bun”. In celebration of her first tutorial there, she is hosting a wonderful giveaway…

A “Sweet” and “Swanky” giveaway!

So pop on over to Vanessa’s blog and enter your name and while you are at it check out her really cute rug! I am gathering fabric to make one for my Nook!

Well, off to enjoy the rest of this wonderfully, perfect snow day! Hopefully I will be posting some finishes soon! : )Here’s to snow, hot cuppa tea and Sweet and Swanky giveaways!

  1. Hi Cara,We’re in the same snow storm. Good time to sew!! Hope this is the last of this weather. Stay warm.~Karen~

  2. OMG! We don’t see that kind of weather here in Texas very often. It is actually about 50-60s today and suppose to get in the 80s later this week. I think your idea of staying inside and sewing is a fabulous idea! BTW… new quilt posted on the MBS site today by Monica… check it out!

  3. Snow on a spilt rail fence just makes me smile— I don’t care if it is march. You’ll need to throw a quilt over the rail and take a photo opt. I’ve never had a jelly roll or honey bun. The Moda website has some great free patterns using them.

  4. I would love to have just a little of that snow. I do see signs of spring and I love it but there is just something cozy about a cold winter day in your warm house.
