Wow! It must be because of Thanksgiving, which by the way I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday, but it has been a busy couple of weeks! I had written in my last post that we had gone to Lil Country Quilt Shoppe’s annual quilt retreat. It was in Rehoboth Beach, DE and this year was just fabulous! My friend Jennifer came with me this year but unfortunately my Quilt Buddy was unable to attend- Stef you were very missed! Maybe next year we can all be together!
I managed to get several projects done and started while there. First I made myself a cute new wallet (my other wallet needed replacing as it was stolen from me about a month ago). It has definitely been a positive in my purse! Then I made this cute wallhanging/ tablerunner for the winter season. It is the mitten quilt in the picture below! I also got another quilt that I wanted to do started- I got the whole thing cut out and started piecing. More to follow on that one!
Below is the awesome prizes, stash bought and quilt made while at the quilt retreat! It was indeed a great weekend! If you have not noticed I have been doing a lot of stash building lately and here is some of the loot I acquired from my latest visit to my friend Jennifer’s…..
I got some lovely fabric to make a messenger bag out of for myself, some cute girlie fabric for a special gift for my daughter and some notions etcetera….but the best part of the loot is the fabric in the front! It is My Folklore by Lecien and I am in love with that fabric!!! In fact, I love it so much that I scoured Etsy until I found more of it!
…isn’t it just scrummy!!! I have a design I am working on from it since as soon as I opened the parcel it gave me an inspiration!
The next thing I am working on is the Don’t Look Now quilt along. She has this fabulous method for applique that I am just loving! Crisp points with no iron-awesome! Below is the supplies for my blocks. I know the block is called Joesph’s coat, which for some would me many colors, but I just loved the 2 fabs I chose so I am going with it! One of the cool things about the orange peels is you can place your template anywhere on the pattern and it makes them look like they are out of different fabrics! Can’t wait to sit down and do more!
Last, but certainly not least, I did some updating of my ironing board in the Nook. I used this tutorial to use my existing cover as the template. I used Fig Tree Quilts Patisserie from my stash. Ta-da! I am off now to work some more on some designs and other projects! I hope you are having a wonderful day!
Happy stash building!
Cara
